Day Four: Say Yes To Surrender

"Trust in the Lord with all of your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to Him, and he will make your paths straight." Proverbs 3:5-6
Although surrender may be associated in most people's minds with defeat, when it comes to a full life in Christ, giving up control is our first step to true freedom in Him.
Surrendering is not easy; it takes trust, release, and a shift in mindset. In Jesus' Sermon on the Mount in chapter 5 of Matthew, Jesus shows us the idea of His upside-down Kingdom of Heaven. What the world sees as one way, Jesus flips the script and releases a mindset shift of surrender. Surrender your pride, surrender your attitude, surrender your need to be right; for those who do so shall inherit the Kingdom of God. Our level of relationship with our Lord is directly connected to our level of surrender.
We may need to surrender to God in many areas of our lives. These areas may include plans, goals, pleasures, ambitions, hurts, the future, the past, ego, sin, pride, anger, fear, health and even unforgiveness. By surrendering back to Him, you open the door to grace and peace over your life beyond anything you can imagine. Choose a life of surrender.
DECLARATION/PRAYER: Lord, I surrender all to you today. Every thought, every emotion, every process, every part of me. I release it all to you so you can use me as you will and fill me to overflow. In Jesus' name, amen.
