Day Thirty-Nine: Enjoy Extraordinary
"So I commend the enjoyment of life, because there is nothing better for a person under the sun than to eat and drink and be glad. Then joy will accompany them in their toil all the days of the life God has given them under the sun." - Ecclesiastes 8:15
Many of us have read John 10:10, where Jesus says, "I have come that they may have life, and that they may have it more abundantly." However, when we look at the Amplified translation, it says, "I came that they may have and enjoy life, and have it in abundance." This translation shows us that part of living an abundant life is enjoying the life God has given us. In today's verse from Ecclesiastes, Solomon tells us that there is nothing better for a person to do than to enjoy their life, but how do we
ensure that we enjoy the "made for more life" we have been given?
We find this answer in James 1:2, where we are told to "count it all joy when you fall into various trials." James tells us that we can find joy even in trials, and we must "count" it as such. My question today is, how are you "counting" your life? Better yet, how are you "seeing" your life? To truly enjoy a "Made For More" life, we must ensure that our perspective toward life is always through the lens of joy. Don't take the same attitude into this new year; instead, choose today to have a "Made For More" life perspective and a perspective of joy in 2023. I challenge you this year to "count it all joy," to take time to enjoy the life Christ came to give you and to live a "made for more" ultimately.
PRAYER: Lord, today I pray that this year we all choose to live a "Made For More" life and to enjoy the life we have been given. I pray that You help our perspective this year, that no matter what we face, we see it through the lens of a life made for more, and we count it all joy. Thank You for a "Made Fore More" life. In Jesus' Name. Amen.
