Day Thirty-Three: Why Worry? Pray!
"Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God; and the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus." - Phil 4:6-7
In John 10:10, Jesus declared that He came that you and I may have abundant life. He came so we could live life free and to its fullest, not bound by sin, weight, and even. Worry. We all experience worry. While experiencing worry is common, I don't want you to think that living with worry is supposed to be normal. Yes, we all experience worry, but God hasn't designed us to live with worry.
Paul writes to the Philippians, "Do not be anxious about ANYTHING." There isn't one thing worth living anxious over, and we often get in trouble with worry because we tend to carry our worries instead of casting them on the Father. Peter tells us in 1 Peter 5:7, "Cast all your anxiety on Him because he cares for you." We aren't designed to carry worry, so the Father allows and invites us to cast them on Him.
How do we cast our worries on Him? We pray. Paul tells us to replace our worry with prayer. Living an abundant life with God that isn't hindered by worry starts by daily taking our worries and cares into the place of prayer before God and giving them to Him. Worry doesn't stand a chance when we decide to replace carrying our worry for a life of prayer.
PRAYER: Father, I love You. I come before You today, holding all of my worries and cares. Today, I place them in Your hands. I lift every care, need and worry I have and give them over to You. I trust You, and I thank You for caring for me. In Jesus' Name. Amen.
