Day Thirty-One: Stay Away From These Two Things
"Fear not, for I am with you; Be not dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you, Yes, I will help you, I will uphold you with My righteous right hand." - Isaiah 41:10
There might not be more significant adversaries to a life made for more than FEAR and DOUBT. The enemy often uses these twin tactics to keep you from the totality of all God has for you. Fear and doubt have the same objective – to arrest the mind and paralyze the potential of every believer. They desire to kill, steal, and destroy the plans and purposes of God for your life.
We are instructed several hundred times throughout scripture to "fear not." Why? Because fear is a spirit that doesn't come from God (2 Tim. 1:7). If God didn't give it, where do you think it comes from? I want to encourage you to stop taking what God didn't give. What He did give us is a command and a promise. The command is "fear not," and the promise is "for I am with you." The command is "be not dismayed," and the promise is "for I am your God."
We are much more prone to fear and discouragement when we feel alone. But we're never alone. God commands us not to fear and doubt because He's with us, and He's for us. And if God is for us, who can be against us? (Rom. 8:31)
We can't allow fear and doubt to keep us from the abundant life God has promised His people. We don't have to be fearful because God has promised to strengthen us, help us, and uphold us with His righteous right hand. The right hand is the hand of authority, and God has given us authority to overcome any fear or doubt and to find peace in His presence and His promises.
PRAYER: Jesus, thank You for Your promises. Thank You for Your promise to be with me and for me. Thank You for Your promise to help, strengthen, and uphold me. I ask You to help me continue rejecting the spirit of fear and doubt. You have not given me a spirit of fear but of power, love, and a sound mind. Help me to be faith-filled instead of fearful. Help me to be confident and full of clarity. I choose to experience the more I was made for, which is a life You've promised me. In Jesus' Name. Amen.
