"The earth was without form, and void; and darkness was on the face of the deep. And the Spirit of God was hovering over the face of the waters. Then God said, "Let there be light"; and there was light." (Genesis 1:2-3 NKJV)

The earth lay in wasteness and emptiness, covered in darkness with no sign of life to be seen or heard. Then the Spirit of the living God began to flutter over the void as God spoke, and it came to be.

The Holy Spirit is the very wind or breath of God. God breathed on the earth, and the land and the sea began to team with life. Everything needed to sustain life came to be, and He said it was good. "And the Lord God formed man of the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life, and man became a living soul." (Gen. 2:7)

Can you feel the Spirit hover over you today? Allow Him to breathe new life into your soul, body and mind. The Helper is breathing comfort into your sorrow, peace over anxiety, strength in your weakness, and power for your purpose.

We can live abundant lives because we are filled with the Spirit. "And I will pray the Father, and He shall give you another Comforter, that He may abide with you forever;" John 14:16
