Day Twenty-Two: Who Is Promised More?
"For this is how God loved the world: He gave his one and only Son, so that everyone who believes in him will not perish but have eternal life. God sent his Son into the world not to judge the world, but to save the world through him. "There is no judgment against anyone who believes in him. But anyone who does not believe in him has already been judged for not believing in God's one and only Son. (John 3:16-18 NLT)
God robed Himself in and came to earth to become a sacrifice for our sins so that we could live eternally with Him. Jesus said, "The thief does not come except to steal, and to kill, and to destroy. I have come that they may have life, and that they may have it more abundantly." (John 10:10 NKJV)
The word life in John 3:16 and John 10:10 is zoe life, a Greek word meaning to have the absolute fullness of life. When we believe in Jesus Christ, surrender to Him, experience the New Birth, and live a life pleasing unto Him, we are promised zoe life for all eternity. Please know that Jesus promised us this zoe life here and now while we live in the flesh. Followers of Christ are promised this life of more, over and above, extraordinary, unsurpassing, and superadded life!
Christ, who has made His home in our hearts, now supplies our lives with His zoe life! Jesus now fills our hearts to chase our darkness and illuminate our path, character, beliefs, minds, and being so that we can experience the more we've been made for.
It is the ultimate life we could never design for ourselves and one that cannot be found outside of Jesus Christ.
If we are confident that we are children of God, we have an inheritance. As children, we are heirs to every promise of more.
He offers it, and now, in 2023, we must receive it and walk in it!
PRAYER: Today, I receive the more I was made for. Help me put to death the old man so that I can live daily in Your zoe life. Let Your life and light lead me this year into every place of more You have for me, in Jesus' name, Amen!
